Access for everyone
Support should not create another barrier.
We are designing Debbie around WCAG 2.2 AA and the real effects of cancer and treatment, including fatigue, cognitive change, sight change and reduced dexterity.
What we have built in
- Semantic headings, landmarks and a skip link
- Visible keyboard focus and keyboard-operable navigation
- Responsive layouts that reflow for small screens and zoom
- Plain language, generous spacing and readable text sizes
- Reduced-motion support and no autoplaying content
- Descriptive links instead of repeated “click here” labels
Current status
Debbie is live, but this is not yet a claim of full compliance. We continue to test the information library, payments, contribution and reporting journeys with keyboards, screen readers, contrast settings, zoom and mobile devices, and we will correct barriers we find.
Tell us about a barrier
Email hello@debbie.org.uk with the page, what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology if you are comfortable sharing it. Please do not include health information. We are working on a telephone or postal alternative for anybody who cannot use email.
Alternative formats
We plan to provide key safety and support information in accessible printable formats. Contact us if you need information in another format; the final statement will include target response times.
Review
This statement was drafted on 27 August 2026 and will be reviewed after independent testing and whenever a major feature is added.
